Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary, located about 25 kilometers from Kozhikode, is a hidden gem of natural beauty and historical significance. Today, Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is renowned for its remarkable biodiversity. It is a sanctuary to hundreds of bird species, including approximately 60 species of migratory birds. From November to April, visitors can witness flocks of Terns, Gulls, Herons, Sandpipers, Whimbrels, Brahminy Kites, and Cormorants. The mangrove forests within the sanctuary provide a thriving habitat for otters and jackals, and the wetlands are teeming with various fish, mussels, crabs, and snakes such as Cobras, Kraits, and Vipers.
